Rebecca Mir Grady jewelry is made with care in Chicago, Illinois. A supporter of marriage equality and environmentally sustainable practices, Rebecca makes all of her jewelry by hand from reclaimed precious metals - primarily Sterling Silver and 14k Gold - and ethically-sourced stones. Her pieces are designed to be modern heirlooms for men and women.
About the Art:
Rebecca makes paintings, sculptures and books. Her work is focused on the perplexing character of interactions with the natural world, and the subsequent ramifications. She has exhibited widely around the US and Internationally, from Chicago to Stockholm, and from Norway to France.
Born in Alaska and raised in Maine, her creative sensibility is steeped in saltwater and mountains. When she was too little to walk she was pulled around on a sled by a german shepherd called Namer. Grady holds an MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She likes to keep her hands busy and has been making jewelry and art for as long as she can remember. She lives with her wife in Chicago, Illinois.
